As you can read HERE I got the 1st book for my B’day back in February. Stil I haven’t done anything with it, but the writer’s Yahoo group is already busy with it for a while. They reached the milestone of 100 blocks this week. Before a girl in the group made the PP explanation of the writer into a Word document and put it in the group section. Now the writer asked last week who was willing to help her with this to make the rest of the files so everyone could acces them easily later on. So I thought: Why not? How difficult can it be? Well, not that much (I found out later on), but I didn’t know that by then. So I searched all the emails of the group for PP instructions of all the blocks so far, page after page……! Finally I had found 50 items and put them in Word. Than came the question if I couldn’t do them also in PDF as not everyone could read Word. Gladly she came to help me and converted them all into PDF for me. She told me that it was easy to find the instrucion by block if you just type the word of the block into the search area…., well I did feel quite a DUMMIE! But since I have been working on this project it is acking inside to finally really start this quilt too….! Especially as some girls of a dutch internet group started to work on the blocks of another book of her, The Amish Circle Quilt. So yes, I have been asking around and searching the internet if this book was too still available and YES it is, at least the wirter has some left! On internet it is a little cheaper, but the writer autographes it and adds a few small pieces of CW repro’s,….so decisions, decisions! Especailly as I like to buy the CD with the EQ file too with it as I love printing the blocks on freezer paper from EQ. And if you remember, I am still a few montsh behind with another book of hers, the CWDQ, which I do as a BOM through a LQS. This book I also got for my b’day, from my mom even, so I like to make a few blocks and show her I actually really do something with it! Maybe make a lot and hussle them up and put them all into one quilt? Again, decisions, decisions…..and to say the least, I heard that Laurie Hird will publish another new sampler book next year! Wwell, at least I still have a few weeks to make up my mind….because I won’t go to the Quiltshow this year from our Guild, so I thought I am allowed to spoil myself a little (as if I NEVER do that!).
